Prince scores 21 points in Hawks summer league win
Taurean Prince scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Hawks to an 81-61 victory over the Kings in the Las Vegas Summer League on Wednesday.
The Hawks (3-1) advance in the winner’s bracket to play the Wizards at 1 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks defeated the Wizards, 88-80, during the opening round.
Prince went 5 of 11 from the field, including 2 of 2 from 3-point range, in his second game with the team after his trade became official Monday. The forward, who was in the starting lineup, added nine rebounds, two assists and one steal. He also had five turnovers.
The Hawks also got 14 points, nine rebounds and three steals from Edy Tavares. DeAndre’ Bembry added 13 points and Brandon Ashley had 10 points. The Hawks outscored the Kings in every quarter, including a 17-8 advantage in the fourth.
The Kings (0-4) were led by Retin Obasohan with 12 points off the bench. Willie Cauley Stein was held to four points in 17 minutes.
The Hawks played without guard Bryce Cotton, who suffered a right ankle sprain on Monday. He is listed as questionable for Thursday.
