The Atlanta Dream has named local businesswoman Ashley Preisinger as chief executive officer for the WNBA franchise.

In her role, Preisinger will oversee all aspects of the team, including sales, finance and basketball operations.

She comes to the Dream after spending four years as the director of client development and marketing for the Atlanta-based wealth management firm Homrich Berg. Prior to that, she spent 11 years in various roles with Invesco.

“I look forward to using the experience I’ve gained as an executive and active community member in Atlanta to complement the Dream’s terrific on-court success with a strong strategic vision to support the continued growth of the franchise,” said Preisinger in a statement. She also serves on the board of directors for Zoo Atlanta and is co-chair of the board of trustees for Georgia Shakespeare.

Chosen in 2008 as one of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 40 Under 40 honorees, Preisinger earned her MBA in finance from Atlanta’s Emory University.
