The Hawks will have a training camp roster of 17 after invitations to Dexter Pittman and Jarell Eddie.

The Hawks already have the maximum 15 players under contract for next season with only Mike Muscala on a non-guaranteed deal.

NBA teams are allowed a maximum training camp roster of 20.

Pittman has appeared in 50 NBA games in five NBA seasons with the Heat, Grizzles and the Hawks. Pittman, the 6-foot-11 center, appeared in two games with the Hawks last season and played a total of three minutes after signing a 10-day contract. He was released when the Hawks bought out the contract of draftee Mike Muscala.

“It’s right at home and it feels right,” said Pittman, who will wear No. 45. “It’s a great family atmosphere here and you don’t see that a lot with professional teams. I’m going to work my butt off every day and whatever happens, happens.”

Eddie played four seasons at Virginia Tech and the 6-7 forward averaged 13.3 points and 5.4 rebounds last year. He appeared in six games for the Wizards in the Las Vegas Summer League and averaged 3.5 points.

“It’s the best opportunity for me,” said Eddie. who will wear No. 3. “Going into the season I felt my best opportunity to make a roster and make a roster and have an impact on the game is with the Hawks.”
