Payne scores 20 for Austin
Hawks rookie Adreian Payne had 20 points and nine rebounds for Austin in a 109-99 win over Oklahoma City in an NBA Development League assignment game Sunday.
Payne, the 15th overall pick, was 9 of 13 from the field. He made his one 3-point attempt and also had two steals, one assists and one block in 30 minutes.
In nine D-League games, in three assignments with Austin and Fort Wayne, Payne is averaging 13.7 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.0 blocks in 29.2 minutes.
Austin next hosts Canton Friday.
