Payne recalled from D-League
The Hawks recalled Adreian Payne from his NBA Development League stint with Austin Monday.
Payne had 18 points and nine rebounds for Austin Sunday, his fifth game with the Spurs affiliate on the assignment. For Austin, Payne averaged 13.2 points and 6.8 rebounds. Austin is not scheduled to play again until Saturday.
Payne, this year’s first-round pick, has been on three D-League assignments. He has averaged 13.4 points and 8.8 rebounds in 11 games for Fort Wayne and Austin. He rejoined the Hawks in Dallas for tonight’s game against the Mavericks. Payne has yet to play in an NBA game and has been inactive in all but one game.
