Shelvin Mack broke his own news.

The guard agreed to terms on a contract extension with the Hawks Friday and shared the news first via social media. “Blessed to have a few more years with the Atlanta Hawks,” Mack tweeted.

Mack, who was a restricted free agent, agreed to a three-year, $7.3 million contract. The first two years are guaranteed and the third year is a team option. The contract has not been signed but there are no major issues.

“It’s a great situation for me,” the 24-year-old Mack told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I’m familiar with all my teammates and with the coaching staff. For once in my career I’m going back to the same team where I am familiar with all the players.”
