If you thought it couldn’t get worse for the Hawks, well, think again.
The Hawks were blown out by the Trail Blazers, 102-78, in a nationally televised game Wednesday night at the Moda Center.
Consider:
*Kyle Korver had his NBA-record streak of consecutive games with a 3-pointer snapped at 127. Korver was 1 of 9 from the field and 0 of 5 from 3-point range and did not play in the fourth quarter.
*The Hawks shot a season-low 25 percent from the field in the first half.
*The Hawks were never really in the game. They trailed by 10 points in the first quarter, 18 in the second, 24 in the third and 29 in the fourth.
The Hawks (26-33, 9-22 road) have lost four straight games and 12 of 13 overall.
Cartier Martin led the Hawks with 16 points.
The Trail Blazers (42-19, 24-8 home) won for the sixth time in the past seven games. They had six players, including each starter, post double-figure scoring.
The Trail Blazers won despite getting just 10 points from All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge. The forward was 1 of 13 from the field. Maurice Williams had 15 points and Nicolas Batum had 18 rebounds.
The Hawks struggled through their worst shooting half of the season in the first two periods. They shot just 25 percent (11 of 14) from the field. It was worse than the 28 percent put up against the Celtics on Dec. 31.
The Hawks, who trailed 56-38 at halftime, shot just 14 percent (2 of 14) from 3-point range after they missed their first 10 long-range attempts.
The Trail Blazers shot 43 percent from the field in the first half in building the 18-point lead. They shot better from 3-point range by making 47 percent (7 of 15) of their attempts.
The Hawks continue their five-game western trip Friday against the Warriors.
