Kyle Korver underwent surgery to repair ligament damage in his right ankle Wednesday and is expected to be sidelined for three months, the Hawks announced.

Korver had the procedure at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City performed by Dr. Martin O’Malley.

The team also announced that Shelvin Mack will have surgery for a separated right shoulder next week.

Korver had previously been ruled out for the remainder of the postseason due to a severe high right ankle sprain suffered in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cavaliers on Friday. While an X-ray done Friday was negative, Korver had an MRI and follow-up examination Saturday which confirmed the diagnosis. Korver got a second opinion from a foot and ankle specialist this week and the surgery was scheduled for Wednesday, a day after the Hawks were eliminated from the playoffs.

Korver was injured when his ankle was caught under Cavaliers guard Matthew Dellavedova scrambling for a loose ball.

Mack was injured with 2:01 remaining in Game 4 of the series Tuesday. An examination following the game suggested a separation and follow-up X-rays and examination at Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic Wednesday confirmed the diagnosis. In making the announcement of Mack’s surgery, the Hawks said a timeline for recovery would be determined following the procedure.
