How NBA Finals Game 3 rated on Atlanta TV

June 9, 2016

The NBA Finals continued to attract a big Atlanta television audience Wednesday night.

ABC’s telecast of Cleveland’s 120-90 victory over Golden State in Game 3 generated a 15.6 rating in the Atlanta TV market, the nation’s sixth highest and the third highest outside the states of the participating teams, according to Nielsen figures provided by ABC.

The highest ratings were posted in the Cleveland and San Francisco markets — 36.7 and 30.7, respectively. Next came Columbus, Ohio, at 17.6, Miami at 16.7, San Antonio at 16.2 and Atlanta.

The rating is the percentage of the market’s TV households that watched the game on average.

Games 1 and 2 of the Cleveland-Golden State series drew ratings of 16.9 and 15.6, respectively, in the Atlanta market — the seventh and fifth highest ratings in the nation for those games (third and second highest outside the Cavaliers’ and Warriors’ home states).
