The Hawks got a victory Friday.
The NBA held random drawings to break ties for the 2016 draft for teams that finished with the same records. The Hawks were locked in a four-way tie with the Heat, Celtics and Hornets after each finished the regular season with a 48-34 record.
The Hawks won their tiebreaker and will have the No. 21 overall pick in the first round of the June draft. The order of the four finishers is reversed in the second round giving the Hawks the No. 54 overall pick.
The Hawks have an additional second-round pick, No. 44 overall, obtained from the Wizards in the draft night deal for the rights to Kelly Oubre Jr. last year.
