Update: The Hawks made the signing of Arsalan Kazemi official on Tuesday. He was with the team in Athens and took part in the opening practice of training camp.

The Hawks are working on a deal to sign forward Arsalan Kazemi to a non-guaranteed training camp contract, according to a person familiar with the situation. The deal is expected to be finalized Tuesday.

Kazemi, 6-foot-7, 226 pounds, was a second-round pick of the Wizards in 2013. His rights were traded to the 76ers on draft night along with Nate Wolters for Glen Rice.The 76ers held his draft rights until Monday when the team and player mutually agreed to rescind his tender, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Kazemi would be the 20th player on the Hawks training camp roster. Workouts begin Tuesday at the University of Georgia.

The 25-year-old from Iran, played collegiately three seasons at Rice from 2009-12 and at Oregon for a season in 2012-13. He averaged 11.7 points and 10.1 rebounds in four seasons at the two schools.

Kazemi played professionally in Iran in 2013-14 and in China last season for the Chongquing Soaring Dragons.
