What they said after the Hawks’ 98-95 win over the Mavericks Wednesday night:

"It's a good win on the road against a good team. It's tough here in their building. I thought the bigs' efforts on Dirk Nowitzki all night is to be commended. He is playing at an amazing level and he is so unique and so gifted so he puts you in a lot of difficult situations. I thought Paul (Millsap) or Al (Horford) or (Mike) Muscala or Thabo (Sefolosha) made it difficult on him. On thought are bench came in. I thought Dennis (Schroder) came in and gave us a big boost. A couple of big plays late with Kyle (Korver) getting an and-one in transition. (Kent Bazemore) hitting a 3. We were able to get back. We may one or two more plays down the stretch that allowed us to get a win." – Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer's opening statement

"I thought it was an amazing pass by Jeff (Teague). Jeff was aggressive, attacked, got to the baseline, collapsed the defense and found Baze. He stepped into a shot and made it. That was another big one." – Budenholzer on Kent Bazemore game-winning 3-pointer

"You don't want to go too far because at the end of the game there is a four or five second differential (between the shot and game clocks). I think if we could leave them with less time, especially considering they were out of time outs. If we could use the clock and still get a good shot, that's the objective." – Budenholzer on Hawks' last offensive possession before Mavericks missed potential game-tying shot as time expired

"I thought our defense was good. When you are playing good defense there is probably more opportunities for offensive rebounds. I thought they were taking tough, contested shots. Some were coming up short with tough bounces. We kept grinding defensively. I'd like to be better on the boards but it's usually a sign you are getting a lot of stops." – Budenholzer on win despite allowing 20 offensive rebounds

"I just saw Paul got the steal and he was denying Dirk. I thought Paul did a great job on Dirk all night. He got the steal and it was just a fast-break situation. Usually I run to the 3 but I saw Paul was maybe going to be stuck up at the basket. He made a great pass and I just tried to finish it." – Kyle Korver on late and-one layup

"I think Baze was frustrated the first half. He had his shorts on backward. I don't know if you noticed that. He put them on the right way and came out and had a great second half. Just a great second half for us. He hit a bunch of shots. I thought the pass by Jeff was just as incredible. I don't know how he saw Baze through all that." – Korver on Bazemore game-winning 3-pointer

"I knew they were stunting on Paul and Al pretty hard so I just tried to drive the baseline. We did that all night. I knew they were going to stunt hard on Paul and Al so I knew Baze would be open." – Jeff Teague on assist to set up Bazemore game-winning 3-pointer

"Just got my feet set. I'm falling in love with that jumper more and more. It was a heck of a pass by Jeff. I didn't even think he saw me. He put it right there on the dot. No one ran at me. I just locked in and let it fly. It was a big shot. It kind of took the air out of the building and from there we held on. " – Kent Bazemore on game-winning 3-pointer

"They gave me some jacked up shorts. I went out and had a rough start. I had a rough start. I got my right shorts on and turned it around." – Bazemore on wearing his shorts the wrong way in the first half

"I think our defense did great. We didn't do a great job on the offensive rebounding but down the stretch we got some key rebounds and executed on the offensive end." – Paul Millsap on win

"We are still trying to put it all together. It felt like tonight was a step forward against a really good team on the road. Finding a way to win the game, I think that's the defensive effort, focus and intensity that we need." – Paul Millsap on second straight win for first time in more than a month
