Hawks 2017 first-round draft pick John Collins is expected to participate in some or all of the Hawks’ summer league teams next month.

The Hawks will play the Knicks, Trail Blazers and Bulls in their three preliminary-round games of the Las Vegas Summer League next month.

The Hawks schedule is as follows, with Eastern times and TV:

> July 7: vs. Knicks, 5:30 p.m. (ESPN)

> July 8: vs. Trail Blazers, 5:30 p.m. (ESPN2)

> July 10: vs. Bulls, 6 p.m. (NBA TV)

Following the preliminary-round games, all 30 NBA teams will be seeded for the tournament round, which guarantees teams at least two more games. The tournament, which begins July 6, culminates with the championship game July 17.

The Hawks will compete in the Utah Summer League before Las Vegas, from July 2-5, where they will play the Grizzlies, Spurs and Jazz.

The Hawks’ summer-league roster will be released later this month. Last year’s draft picks John Collins and Tyler Dorsey, along with this year’s selections, will play.

New Hawks coach Lloyd Pierce said he would coach the summer league team in Utah before the birth of his child. Lead assistant Melvin Hunt likely would be a candidate to coach the team in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Summer League is held on the campus of UNLV.
