The Hawks will finish with either the No. 5 or No. 7 playoff seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Hawks have two games remaining in the regular season — Tuesday night versus the Hornets and Wednesday night at the Pacers. Per the NBA, if the Hawks win one of their remaining games they will clinch the No. 5 seed and open the playoffs with a first-round matchup with the Wizards that will begin in Washington this weekend. The Hawks also will secure the No. 5 seed if the Pacers and Bucks lose their remaining games. The Bucks end the season at the Celtics on Wednesday.

The Hawks will be the No. 7 seed if they lose both remaining games and the Bucks win. If the Hawks finished No. 7 they will play either the Celtics or the Cavaliers in the first round, whichever team finishes No. 2. The Celtics currently hold the No. 1 seed. However if they lose to the Bucks and the Cavaliers defeat the Raptors on Wednesday, the teams finish with identical records and the Cavaliers will be No. 1 by virtue of head-to-head tiebreaker.
