The Hawks assigned Mike Scott to the NBA Development League on Monday. The reserve forward will play for the Long Island Nets, the affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, via the flexible assignment rule.

The Long Island Nets are scheduled to host the Maine Red Claws on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.

Scott practiced with the Hawks Monday.

It will be the second D-League stint for Scott as he works his way back from non-surgical knee procedures that caused him to miss training camp and the first 18 games of the regular season. Scott played two games for the Delaware 87ers, the affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, last week. He averaged 8.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 20.7 minutes. He was 7 of 19 from the field and 3 of 10 from 3-point range. The Hawks hoped to get Scott extended playing time in the stint.

Scott returned to the Hawks last week before the team play at the Milwaukee Bucks but did not play in the game. In his three games with the Hawks, in limited playing time, Scott has two points, eight rebounds and six assists.
