A brief recap of the Hawks’ 17th consecutive victory, a relatively simple conquest of the Nets:

How the game was won: Paul Millsap scored 28 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, and Atlanta survived a second consecutive sub-par defensive outing to keep the Nets at bay. Millsap made a career-high 15-of-16 free throws, and Atlanta burned its way to a 64-53 halftime lead and then parried a few modest Brooklyn challenges in the second half to win for the 31st time in 33 outings.

Al Horford added 20 points and 10 rebounds, and point guard Jeff Teague gave the Hawks three double-doublers with 13 points and 11 assists.

Turning point: Trailing 44-43 midway through the second quarter, Atlanta closed the period on a 21-9 run during which Millsap, DeMarre Carroll and Teague each hit 3-pointers to take control.

Number:12. The Hawks made 12-of-33 3-pointers, and Kyle Korver — who already led the NBA with a 53.1 percent longball shooting percentage before the game — made 5-of-8 while scoring 17 points.

Next: The Hawks will play host to Portland Friday night, the sixth game of a seven-game home stand.
