A brief recap of the Hawks’ third straight win over Dallas:

How the game was won: Dennis Schroder led Atlanta with 17 points off the bench to continue his torment of the Mavs, and the Hawks' starters put together a sterling third quarter to turn a six-point halftime deficit into a blowout.

Schroder scored a career-high 22 points in a starting role when Atlanta won 105-102 in Dallas on Nov. 22, and he was a menace again while adding four assists. This game was flipped by the starters, however, as Paul Millsap, Al Horford, DeMarre Carroll, Kyle Korver and Jeff Teague combined to make 11-of-18 shots in the third quarter and outscore Dallas starters 28-11. They shot 10-for-29 in the first half.

Turning point: Atlanta ripped the game from the Mavs with a 12-0 blitz in the third that included scores on five straight possessions. Millsap (15 points) started it with a 3-pointer at 8:23, Korver (16) followed with a 3 and then layups/dunks were scored by Korver, Millsap and Millsap with 6:25 left for a 66-57 lead. Millsap and Horford had steals in that stretch.

Number:1: Wednesday was the first time the Mavs lost to an Eastern Conference team on the road this season. They entered Philips Arena 13-0.

Next: The Hawks will play host to Orlando Friday night before a game Saturday in Miami.
