How the game was won: Mike Muscala scored a game-high 17 points, one off his career-high, subbing for the injured Paul Millsap. The reserve center is 21 of 25 from the field over his last four games, including three straight starts in place of Millsap. The Hawks also got double-digit scoring from Kyle Korver (16), Al Horford (15) and Dennis Schroder (14) as the pulled away from the Hornets in the second half.

Turning point: The Hawks outscored the Hornets 23-12 in the third quarter. They turned a one-point halftime deficit into a 10-point advantage. The 12 points allowed was a season low by a Hawks opponent in third period this season. The Hawks improved to 51-4 on the season when leading by 10 or more points at any point during the game.

Number: 60. The Hawks improved on their franchise record regular-season total with the nice round number. There are three games remaining to improve on the mark.
