The Hawks had little mercy on the injury-depleted Grizzlies.

Such in life in the NBA.

The Hawks led by as many as 17 points against a Grizzlies team missing seven players and playing on the second night of a back-to-back. The result was a 95-83 victory Saturday night at Philips Arena.

The Hawks (37-29) have won six of the past eight games and kept pace in an ever-more crowded Eastern Conference playoff race. They remain sixth in the conference and are two games behind the Celtics for third, a game behind the Heat for fourth and a half-game behind the Hornets for fifth.

Paul Millsap had 21 points and seven rebounds. Al Horford added 19 points and eight rebounds and Jeff Teague finished with 18 points, including four 3-pointers. The Hawks used a 30-10 run to end the second quarter to put away the Grizzlies, a night after they went into overtime for a victory despite so many missing players.

The Grizzlies (39-27) lost with a roster that was missing – among others – their three leading scorers in Marc Gasol, Mike Conley and Zach Randolph. Lance Stephenson came off the bench to lead the Grizzlies with 18 points.
