Eight Hawks games will be broadcast by Spanish language station El Patron 105.3 FM this season, the team announced Wednesday. It will be the first time Hawks games have been aired completely in Spanish by an Atlanta station.

“We are thrilled to enter a partnership with iHeartMedia and El Patron 105.3,” Hawks CEO Steve Koonin said in a statement. “This collaboration presents exciting new opportunities for us to further engage the diverse, multicultural population of our great city. Broadcasting our games in Spanish is important for our organization as we continue to build bridges through basketball and connect with our community.”

The Hawks and El Patron will broadcast eight home games against teams currently featuring Hispanic and Latino players. They are:

• Dec. 15 vs. Bulls (Spain’s Pau Gasol)

• Dec. 30 vs. Cavaliers (Brazil’s Anderson Varejao)

• Jan. 7 vs. Grizzlies (Spain’s Marc Gasol)

• Jan. 25 vs. Timberwolves (Spain’s Ricky Rubio)

• Feb. 6 vs. Warriors (Brazil’s Leandro Barbosa)

• March 6 vs. Cavaliers (Varejao)

• March 22 vs. Spurs (Argentina’s Manu Ginobili and Brazil’s Tiago Splitter)

• April 13 vs. Knicks (Spain’s Jose Calderon)

El Patron’s Jose Manuel Flores, who has over 21 years of Spanish play-by-play major league baseball broadcast experience that includes time with the White Sox and the Braves, will handle the play-by-play announcing duties.
