The Atlanta Dream upgraded forward Sancho Lyttle’s injury status on Thursday. The team now expects Lyttle to need four or five weeks of rehab for a foot injury that was initially thought to be a regular season-ending injury.

It was determined Lyttle suffered a bruise and not a fracture in her fifth metatarsal bone in her right foot. The veteran has been diagnosed with a partially torn peroneus longus tendon that will not require surgery. She is expected to be back when the team returns from the Olympics break on August 26 against the Chicago Sky.

Lyttle was the WNBA’s leader in steals per game (2.2) this season and was fifth in rebounding per game (8.5) at the time of her injury. She has played in 17 games for the Dream in her ninth season in the WNBA and averaged 7.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest.

The Dream have posted a 1-1 record since Lyttle was injured. The team previously went 2-2 when she left to help Spain qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
