Hawks lead assistant Kenny Atkinson will coach the team’s entry in the Las Vegas Summer League next month.
The tournament runs July 10-20 on the campus of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. The schedule for the event was announced Tuesday. The Hawks will play the Nuggets on July 10, Warriors on July 12 and NBA Development Select team on July 13. Teams will then be seeded for a tournament with the Hawks guaranteed at least two more games.
Atkinson has been with the Hawks for three seasons. He is also coaching the Dominican Republic national team in the 2015 FIBA Americas Tournament Aug. 25-Sept. 6.
The Hawks are rotating summer league responsibilities. Assistant Darvin Ham coached the summer league entry last year.
