The mask remains – for now – with some modifications.

Hawks center Pero Antic will continue to wear the protective mask after suffering a broken nose in training camp. Antic reports, after several visits to the doctors, that his nose his healing properly. However, he will continue to wear the mask for at least one more game Saturday against the Pacers. He is scheduled to visit the doctor again next week and he might be able to forego the equipment.

“We are almost to the end and we don’t want to risk anything,” Antic said.

Antic said the mask has been altered with larger eye holes and different securing straps. The adjustments have made it more comfortable.

Antic did not play in the season-opening loss to the Raptors Wednesday.

In addition, point guard Jeff Teague confirmed Saturday that he has abandoned his experiment to play with corrective goggles. He wore them sparingly through the preseason.
