Jeff Francoeur is an idiot.

That's how his teammates in Triple-A El Paso Chihuahuas lovingly refer to the former Atlanta Braves outfielder.

Francoeur was a member of the Cleveland Indians this spring, but was released. The San Diego Padres signed him to a minor league contract, which is how he ended up in El Paso.

After being reuinted with former Braves reliever Blaine Boyer, Francoeur took note of pitcher Jorge Reyes. Francoeur questioned teammates as to why Reyer didn't have a reaction to a warning in the field during practices. (Former Braves infielder Brooks Conrad - who didn't play with Francoeur in Atlanta - also is a member of the Chihuahuas.)

He was led to believe Reyes was deaf, and the entire team took part in al elaborate scheme to  make fun of Francoeur.

While Francoeur would mouth and make large hand signals to Reyes to try to communicate, the Chihuahuas documented the entire month-long prank in a short documentary.

If you stick around for the credits, you will see Francoeur's reaction to finally being let it on the joke ... idiot.
