Jordan Schafer wasn’t ready to face Triple-A batters, and now the former Braves outfielder-turned Dodgers pitching prospect is back at Double-A.

Schafer was promoted to Triple-A Oklahoma City from Double-A Tulsa on May 23. In his first game, he pitched one inning and allowed no runs on one hit. The next time out, the bottom fell out.

In his next four appearances out of the OKC bullpen, Schafer allowed 13 hits and seven earned runs in 4 1/3 innings. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out five. Four of the strikeouts came in his worst outing, which was his last before the demotion. In that game he allowed seven hits and four runs in two innings.

He was sent back to Tulsa on June 15 and made the first appearance of his second go-round Friday night. He pitched an inning without allowing a hit or a run, and he struck out a batter.

Overall at Tulsa, Schafer has pitched 20 innings in 15 appearances for Tulsa and has a 1.35 ERA. He has struck out 22 and walked five.
