NEXT: VS WASHINGTON NATIONALS

Tuesday

Time: 7:10 p.m.

TV: SPSO

Probable starting pitchers: Braves RH Shelby Miller (5-3, 1.94 ERA) vs. RH Jordan Zimmermann (5-5, 3.42)

Comment: Miller hasn't won a game since his no-hit bid on May 17 in Miami, going 0-2 despite a 2.70 ERA since, while the Braves have won just twice in his past seven starts. Miller has allowed just one run in four of those starts but has either gotten poor run support – like his 2-1 loss his last time out in Washington – or the bullpen has let him down. The Nationals have won both of Zimmermann's starts against the Braves this year, including his last time out when he pitched eight shutout innings against the Braves. He is 5-2 with a 2.84 ERA in 13 career starts against Atlanta.

Wednesday

Time: 7:10 p.m.

TV: SPSO

Probable starting pitchers: Braves RH Matt Wisler (1-1, 3.75) vs. RH Doug Fister (3-3, 4.15)

Comment: Wisler makes his third major league start and second in a row about the Nationals, who didn't see the dominant stuff like Wisler had in his debut against the Mets. Wisler gave up six runs (four earned) on nine hits including a two-run Ian Desmond homer in a loss at Nationals Park. He threw first pitch strikes to only 10 of the 21 batters he faced. The only win the Braves have gotten in the series against the Nationals this year came against Fister on April 27 but since then he's held them to three earned runs in 13 2/3 innings over two starts.

Thursday

Time: 7:10 p.m.

TV: SPSO

Probable starting pitchers: TBA vs. RH Max Scherzer (9-5, 1.79)

Comment: The Braves have not announced a replacement for Williams Perez (foot), who is on the disabled list, but Gwinnett left-hander Manny Banuelos is a possibility. He leads the International League with a 2.29 ERA and pitched a one-hit shutout two starts ago. This is the Braves' first look at Scherzer as a Washington National, and he's been outstanding in the first year of his $210 million free agent contract. He is second in the NL in ERA behind Zack Greinke (1.58) and is just two starts removed from a no-hitter. He pitched back-to-back shutouts before giving up all of two runs in eight innings to the Phillies his last time out.
