The Braves announced that left-hander Sean Newcomb will start Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Mets and Matt Wisler will start Game 2.

Newcomb, 23, will be making his major league debut. He will become the first Braves player to do so at SunTrust Park. The Angels selected Newcomb with the No. 15 pick in the 2014 draft, and the Braves acquired him as part of the Andrelton Simmons trade in November 2015.

Wisler, 24, started 19 games for the Braves in 2015 and 26 games in 2016. He’s had two stints with the big-league club this season and has compiled a 7.00 ERA in six appearances out of the bullpen.
