PITTSBURGH — Shae Simmons had a rough go of it in his second rehab appearance Monday at Triple-A Gwinnett, when the Braves rookie reliever was charged with two hits, four runs and two walks and left without recording an out.

Simmons, on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain, needed only 10 pitches to get through a one-hit inning in his first appearance Saturday with Gwinnett. He started Monday’s game and was scheduled to pitch one inning, but threw 10 strikes in 22 pitches and left without getting an out.

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez had said earlier Monday that Simmons would be reevaluated after Monday’s game to determine whether he needed another rehab appearance or two.
