Ozzie Albies hit his first home run of the season and Mauricio Cabrera pitched well in his first rehab assignment but the Gwinnett Braves (14-10) lost to the Durham Bulls 6-2 Tuesday night in Triple-A baseball in Lawrenceville.

Former Braves outfielder Mallex Smith went 3-for-5, scored two runs, stole three bases and threw out a runner at the plate for Durham.

Cabrera walked one and struck out one in a scoreless inning. The hard-throwing right-hander has been on the disabled list since experiencing elbow tightness late in spring training,

Albies cranked a solo home run an estimated 397 feet to left-center in the first inning. The second baseman went 1-for-5 and is hitting .252.

Ryan Howard was 1-for-4 for Gwinnett and is hitting .179.
