SI jinx won't fell Braves
By Larry Hartstein
Oct 6, 2010The Braves don't have to worry about a Sports Illustrated jinx.
All 11 of SI.com's experts picked the Giants to beat Atlanta in the National League Division Series that starts Thursday.
"San Francisco has too many power arms for a feisty, but undermanned, Atlanta team," Tom Verducci wrote.
"The Braves are so beat up -- no Chipper Jones, no Martin Prado -- that I can't see them making this much of a series even with the Bobby Cox emotion," added Joe Posnanski.
Cliff Corcoran called the Braves "a battered, broken shell of the team that won most of the games that earned Bobby Cox his final postseason berth."
On the positive side, only three of the experts predicted a Giants' sweep.
