A weekly update on ex-Braves around the majors:
Brian McCann, C
New York Yankees
McCann, who continues to get occasional extra days off, had a better week at the plate (5-for-19) but his average still sits at just .230.
Tim Hudson, P
San Francisco Giants
He is 6-2 and has 50 strikeouts and just eight walks in 77 1/3 innings. Hudson’s ERA is 1.75, second in the NL to Johnny Cueoto of the Reds (1.68).
Martin Prado, 3B
Arizona Diamondbacks
Prado hit .348 in the past week and has raised his average to .283 despite a slow start this season. He has two homers and 27 RBIs.
Mark Teixeira, 1B
New York Yankees
The ex-Georgia Tech star could’ve been on pace for his second 40-homer season (he has 10 in 40 games) if not for injuries. He’s hitting .241 with 27 RBIs.
Adam LaRoche, 1B
Washington Nationals
LaRoche has a good case to be an All-Star. He is hitting .315 (49 points above his career .266 average) and has eight homers and 30 RBIs.
Omar Infante, 2B
Kansas City Royals
One of two players the Braves traded for Dan Uggla in 2010 (along with pitcher Mike Dunn) has 74 RBIs in the past two seasons. Uggla has 65.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C
Miami Marlins
He’s on the 7-day DL due to post-concussion symptoms and the Marlins say he will return as soon as he is symptom-free for three to four days.
Michael Bourn, OF
Cleveland Indians
Bourn hit a walk-off homer Sunday and also had a game-winning double Tuesday. He hit .360 in the past week and his average has risen to .295.
Elvis Andrus, SS
Texas Rangers
Andrus had 67 RBIs last season but he’s on pace for just 38 this season. He got two off days recently as his manager felt he looked “sluggish”.
