Johan Camargo’s two doubles helped the Gwinnett Stripers defeat Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon.
Camargo was 3-for-5 and drove in one run as his rehab minor league stint continues at Triple-A Gwinnett.
Braves star prospect Ronald Acuna was 1-for-4 with a first-inning single and a run scored, but he struck out twice. He raised his batting average to .182 (8-for-44). Acuna has a slash line of .182/.294/.273 and has struck out 17 times in 11 games.
Acuna has struck out at least once in all but one game. He has struck out two times or more in six of the 11 games.
On a brighter note, left-handed prospect Max Fried pitched 5-1/3 innings and allowed two runs on five hits, with four strikeouts and two walks. Fried is 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA at Gwinnett.
In two starts for the Stripers, Fried has recorded 10 strikeouts in 11 innings and has walked four and allowed 10 hits. Fried made one start for Double-A Mississippi before his promotion to Gwinnett. In that game, he allowed three hits and walked three in 4-2/3 innings, but no runs scored, and he struck out six.
