Braves' opponent: New York Mets
Keep an eye on: Who's not pitching for the Mets. Matt Harvey pitched the Subway Series finale Sunday night. Jacob deGrom is being skipped Tuesday after posting a 6.41 ERA in his past five starts, and rookie Noah Syndergaard pitched Saturday against the Yankees. The toughest matchup that leaves for the Braves is Bartolo Colon, who is undefeated in four starts against the Braves this year and 8-2 with a 2.55 ERA against them overall.
Who's hot: David Wright was 8-for-22 (.364) with four doubles in his previous six games entering Sunday.
Who's not: Yoenis Cespedes was 0-for-his-past-17 entering Sunday night, going hitless since he was hit in the leg by a Tom Koehler pitch Tuesday.
Braves connection: Kelly Johnson was hitting .264 with six doubles, five home runs and 13 RBIs in 38 games with the Mets since the July 24 trade from Atlanta. Juan Uribe was hitting .218 with nine doubles, six home runs and 20 RBIs in 41 games as a Met since that trade as well. Left-hander Sean Gilmartin, the former first round draft pick of the Braves, is scoreless in 7 1/3 relief innings against the Braves this season.
In the news: The Mets reportedly agreed on a plan to get Harvey pitching into the postseason with two abbreviated starts to finish out the regular season (including Sunday night vs. the Yankees) and one start in the Division Series. Then they'll re-evaluate. The Mets' magic number to clinch entering Sunday was eight. Since Aug. 1, the Mets were leading the majors with 17 comeback wins entering Sunday night.
