Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman was named National League Player of the Week after hitting .548 (17-for-31) with nine extra-base hits including three home runs and eight RBIs in seven games, helping the Braves to a season-high five-game winning streak through Sunday.

Freeman had a .588 on-base percentage and 1.065 slugging percentage in seven games and became the first Braves to hit for the cycle since 2008 when he did it Wednesday in a 13-inning win against the Reds. He had five games with at least three hits during the week including a pair of four-hit games, matching his career high for hits in a game.

He became the first major leaguer this season to hit for the cycle – single, double, triple, home run – when he did it Wednesday in a 13-inning win against the Reds. He was the first Brave to hit for the cycle since Mark Kotsay in 2008 and only the seventh to do it in franchise history and third since the Braves moved to Atlanta in 1966.
