LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – The Braves’ game Thursday night against the Phillies was rained out in the fourth inning, but Matt Wisler got in most of his scheduled work.

The Braves’ young starting pitcher allowed two hits and two walks in 3 1/3 scoreless innings before play was halted with a runner on base and the score 0-0. Wisler was scheduled to pitch five innings in his fourth start of spring training, but got in enough work that the Braves didn’t have him throw more indoors after play was halted.

The second of Wisler’s walks occurred during a strange couple of minutes when fans were instructed to seek shelter and began walking up the aisles toward the covered areas of Champion Stadium, as lightning flashed and skies darkened. The teams continued to play before umpires finally halted the game.

Ender Inciarte had both of Braves hits against Phillies starter Adam Morgan. Atlanta’s leadoff man had a first-inning single and a one-out bunt single in the third. The only other Brave to reach base was Gordon Beckham on a leadoff walk in the third.

It was the first rain-shortened game of the spring for the Braves, who have split-squad games Friday against the Astros at home (ESPN Wide World of Sports) and against the Tigers in Lakeland, Fla.

Braves relievers who had been scheduled to follow Wisler in Thursday’s game — Jason Grilli, Jim Johnson, Alexi Ogando, Dan Winkler — will all pitch in one of Friday’s split-squad games, manager Fredi Gonzalez said.
