How the winning run scored: Gwinnett's Joe Leonard scored in the first inning when pitcher Yohan Flande reached on a throwing error on second baseman Will Rhymes. The run gave the G-Braves a 2-1 lead, and they held on to win their seventh consecutive game.

At the plate: The G-Braves managed 18 hits, including 15 singles. The extra-base hits were home runs by Brandon Boggs and Ernesto Mejia (his 14th) and a double by Joey Terdoslavich (his 21st). Mejia and Terdoslavich each had three RBIs. Six players had multiple hits. Terdoslavich and Boggs were 3-for-5. Todd Cunningham, Tyler Pastornicky, Paul Janish and Mejia had two apiece.

On the mound: G-Braves starter Flande (3-4) lasted seven innings, allowing one run on two hits and a walk. He struck out four.

Up next for Gwinnett: The teams complete their four-game series at 7 p.m. Thursday. Gwinnett (24-30) plans to starts left-hander Sean Gilmartin (3-3, 4.06 ERA) against righty Ross Ohlendorf (3-5, 4.83) of Syracuse (22-30).
