Braves third-base prospect Austin Riley has a hit in all six games since he was promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Riley made his Triple-A debut May 7 for the Stripers. He was 1-for-5 that night, but struck out three times. In the five games since, Riley was 5-for-15 and struck out only twice.
Ranked the No. 6 Braves prospect by Baseball America, and No. 44 overall, Riley has scored two runs, walked twice and hit a double while compiling a .300 overall batting average for Gwinnett.
The top three Braves prospects ranked ahead of Riley are on the team’s 25-man roster: Ronald Acuna, Luiz Gohara and Mike Soroka. The other two are pitchers Kyle Wright and Ian Anderson, making Riley the Braves’ top-ranked position player in the minors.
The Stripers will face Norfolk at 6:05 p.m. today at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville.
