Aaron Blair has good outing but Gwinnett loses

Aaron Blair allowed two runs and five hits in six innings but the Gwinnett Braves lost to the host Columbus Clippers 6-4 in the Triple-A playoffs Thursday night.

The best-of-five Governors’ Cup semifinal series is tied 1-1 and the teams come to Lawrenceville for the next three games.

Blair allowed a Michael Choice sacrifice fly in the first inning and a Yan Gomes solo home run in the third inning.

Blair walked four and struck out six.

Emilio Bonifacio finished 3-for-5 with an RBI for Gwinnett, while Blake Lalli went 3-for-4 with three singles.

Game 3 is Friday night at 7:05. Right-hander Chris Ellis will start for Gwinnett.
