Atlanta United is scheduled to begin training in its new complex in Marietta next week.

The team is holding its final practice session on Monday at the Falcons complex in Flowery Branch. The MLS team will train in Marietta on Tuesday and Wednesday, before flying later that day to Seattle for Friday’s game.

The $60 million training complex is off Franklin Gateway in Marietta. The team announced the complex in April 2016 and broke ground on it in Oct. 2016 .

The training center includes a 30,000-square foot center and six fields, three composed of grass and three of artificial turf.

The team has held a few practice sessions at the complex, but has spent most of its time at Flowery Branch.

“As much as we love it up here, it’s a bit of a hike,” Jacob Peterson said. “Most of us live closer to the city. This is a world-class facility, (but) we are really excited to get into our home.”
