Atlanta United will play at Monterrey in the first leg of the Champions Leg on Wednesday. The game will begin at 10 p.m.

Atlanta United will host the return leg on March 13 at 8 p.m. at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The dates were announced by CONCACAF on Friday. Atlanta United will sell tickets to the lower bowl of Mercedes-Benz but say they reserve the right to expand to the upper bowl closer to the match.

Atlanta United advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Herediano 4-0, 5-3 on aggregate, on Thursday at Kennesaw State.

Monterrey advanced by defeating Alianza in its opening series.

“Monterrey is a great team, they are first in the Mexican league for a reason,” Atlanta United manager Frank de Boer said.  “It’s going to be a totally different challenge for us. I think they have probably more quality than Herediano. But we have quality as well.”

Atlanta United is going to be very busy. It will open the MLS season on Sunday at D.C. United. The team will fly from Washington D.C. to Mexico for the Champions League. The team will then fly home, rest and prepare to host  Cincinnati at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on March 10 before the second leg against Monterrey.
