Atlanta United’s men of the match, as decided by me, in Sunday’s game at Minnesota United:

The snowblower guys

Groundskeeping

Why: Because the lines would have disappeared if not for the work they did during the game to keep the halfway line and the penalty boxes visible.

-

Josef Martinez

Forward

Why: Because he scored three goals, the first hat-trick in Atlanta United history.

“All three of the goals were kind of similar tonight,” he said. “(On the third), Tito found me in front of the goal and most important thing is the finishing.”

-

Miguel Almiron

Midfielder

Why: He scored two goals.

“Snow,” when asked if he will remember the first three points or the conditions the most.

“No, it’s important for us to get the first win and we are gaining more trust in how we are playing. To be able to work calmly this week.”
