Atlanta United’s Andrew Carleton is a finalist for U.S. Soccer’s Young Male Player of the Year Award.

Carleton, 16, signed with the MLS expansion club this summer.

Winning may be a long shot because the other finalists are Christian Pulisic of Borussia Dortmund in Germany’s first division and Jordan Morris of Seattle, which will be playing Toronto in the MLS finals, Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, and Josh Sargent.

The winner will be announced on Friday during a 10 p.m. broadcast on Fox Sports 1.

Votes are submitted by respective National Team coaches, National Team players who earned a cap this year, American soccer league (MLS, NASL and NWSL) head coaches, select media members, former players and administrators.

Carleton recently helped the U.S. Under-17 national team win the Nike International Friendlies with wins over Turkey, Portugal and Brazil. Carleton scored four goals in the tournament.
