Atlanta United to open 2018 season on road

Atlanta United will open the 2018 season on the road at the Houston Dynamo and play it’s home opener against D.C. United, the team announced Tuesday.

Atlanta United will play Houston at 3:30 p.m. March 3 at BBVA Compass Stadium.

The first and only meeting between the teams was on May 20 when Atlanta United won 4-1 at Bobby Dodd Stadium during its inaugural season. Last season, the Dynamo advanced to Western Conference finals before being eliminated.

Atlanta United’s home opener against D.C. United will be at 3 p.m. March 11 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta United lost all three matchups against D.C. United last season, including two road games at RFK Stadium.

Major League Soccer will announce the rest of the 2018 schedule in January.
