The Atlanta Football Host Committee (AFHC) is seeking 2,000 volunteers for the  College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The AFHC is looking for the most energetic and passionate college football fans to work fan events before, during and after college football’s biggest game of the season.

Volunteer responsibilities include hospitality, transportation, access control and operations. Volunteers will be required to complete a training session in December and work at least three shifts for the College Football Playoff.

“With the opening of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the nation is watching as Atlanta hosts a number of world-class sporting events over the next few years,” executive director of Atlanta Football Host Committee Carl Adkins said. “It’s our time to showcase all that is great about our city and we cannot do it without the support of our community.”

Volunteers will receive a custom-designed uniform package which includes a long-sleeved Nike polo shirt, mid-weight performance fleece jacket, lanyard and cap or knit hat to wear for the event. The AFHC announced uniform designs will be revealed later in October.

Former college football standouts Hines Ward and Coy Wire of CNN and HLN Sports were named as Honorary Volunteer Captains to lead teams of volunteers under Team Hines and Team Coy.

Those 18 years and older who are interested in volunteering register online at www.atlchampgame.com/volunteer. Applicants must fill out an online background check via Verified Volunteers in order to apply.
