The Braves’ 11-4 victory over the Diamondbacks on Monday included another personal achievement for outfielder Adam Duvall.
Duvall hit the longest home run of his career during the Braves’ win over the Diamondbacks on Monday. He launched a 483-foot blast, scoring two of the Braves’ seven runs in the fifth inning.
“That was the purest ball that I’ve hit in my big-league career,” Duvall said. “That’s one of those you work for and strive for. It’s almost like your best drive in golf. You very rarely achieve it, but when you do, it’s fun.”
Duvall’s previous longest home run was a 478-foot shot at Coors Field earlier this month. This shot topped it and registered as the second-longest homer at Chase Field in the Statcast era (since 2015), trailing only Franchy Cordero’s 489-foot home run.
The home run was the second longest by a Braves player in the Statcast era, behind outfielder Ronald Acuna’s 495-foot blast last season. It also extended Duvall’s career-best hitting streak to 16 games.
“He bangs,” third baseman Austin Riley said of Duvall. “It’s impressive. That ball (Monday) was hit a very, very long way.”
