LOS ANGELES — Fresh off a 2-6 run against the Yankees, Giants and Dodgers, the Braves seemingly get a break when they open a four-game series in Colorado on Thursday, but the Rockies are a formidable home team.

The Rockies are 43-22 at Coors Field. The dangers of that ballpark are always well noted, and despite the team’s overall struggles, the Rockies are one of the best home teams in the majors. Their 43 home wins rank second in the National League behind only the Dodgers.

The Braves will try to rebound after getting swept in Los Angeles. It was a series riddled with missed opportunity, with the Braves losing three games by a combined four runs, including a pair of one-run losses Tuesday and Wednesday.

Following the latest loss, the Braves have just a two-game lead over the Phillies in the National League East. With the Phillies’ favorable schedule down the stretch, the Braves can’t afford a poor showing in Colorado.
