Atlanta United's Yamil Asad reacts to scoring the franchise's first goal in the first half of Sunday's game.

Yamil Asad scored the first goal in Atlanta United’s history, giving the MLS expansion team a 1-0 lead over the New York Red Bulls in the 25th minute at Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium.
The goal came on a cross from right fullback Tyrone Mears to the back post, where Asad poked it past Luis Robles and into the goal.
