Falcons promote Khalid Kareem; place DeAngelo Malone on injured reserve

Malone had surgery Monday after suffering an ankle injury in the loss to the Colts.

FLOWERY BRANCH – Outside linebacker Khalid Kareem was signed to the 53-man roster by the Falcons on Thursday.

The Falcons had a roster spot after placing linebacker DeAngelo Malone on injured reserve. Malone suffered a broken ankle in the 31-25 loss to the Colts on Sunday in Berlin. He had surgery on Monday.

Also, cornerback C.J. Henderson was signed to the practice squad.
