Boozer was originally adopted from a shelter in Tennessee by Lloyd Goldston’s family, according to the report. Goldston had Boozer microchipped.

Goldstone told KUSA his family was moving during the time period when Boozer disappeared and they were never able to find him.

Boozer was adopted by another person who recently moved to Denver and could no longer care for him. He ended up in the Foothills Animal Shelter on Aug. 2, 2015, according to the report.

The shelter scanned his chip and tracked Goldston down.

Goldston and his family drove 18 hours to pick Boozer up.

And their reunion was beautiful.
