Halloween frights came early for drivers and pedestrians in Arizona as a giant, inflatable pumpkin emerged from a group of trees before bouncing through a busy intersection.

In a video captured Thursday, the 25-foot tall, 350 pound orange Jack-o'-lantern rolls across multiple lanes of traffic before it gets stuck beneath a streetlight pole.It then breaks free and rolls off into the distance to enjoy its chance at freedom.

The pumpkin traveled about a quarter of a mile more, bouncing over a wall, rolling through a business parking lot and eventually landing in a neighborhood park.

City officials said that the pumpkin broke free from a halloween display promoting a local halloween party.

No one was injured in the great pumpkin escape, but it did cause damage to street lights.
